Thank God for the Rains

Devotional:

Growing up, there's nothing I hated more than a heavy rainfall a day after a fresh hairstyle. It was as if Mother Nature herself, had an ought against me and needed to get even. Though she still owes me for my next couple hairstyles, my perspective for the rains have changed.

Rainy seasons not only signify the great blessings (refreshing & restoration) of God, but they also signify a response to an outcry. Sometimes, we can trek through desert-type climates for so long, that we use the cares of this life to sound out the true cries of our soul. But thankfully God is the Great Shepherd and He carefully observes and watches over the state of our souls. He knows the rains will bring the deep reset and refreshing our souls need.

So on this day, set aside the external appearance and pay closer attention to the internal imagery of your soul. What does it need? What wounds are desperate for the presence of Jehovah Rapha? What are the void spaces and how can you invite in Jesus to fill them up?

I get it, you've gotten used to just continuing forward, but today, allow The God of All Comfort (2 Cor 1:3-4) to come in and fill your soul with His living water. I pray that every void space may be filled to the brim overflowing and that every trace of weariness may be cast away from you.
